Lami J. Glenn (He/Him) is a senior undergraduate student, majoring in Sociology, with a minor in Pan African Studies at California State University, Los Angeles, graduating Summa Cum Laude in May 2023. Born and raised in south Los Angeles, with a fervor for social justice, his research seeks to examines people’s sentiments and attitudes towards police brutality against unarmed Black Americans from the multifarious perspectives rooted in race, class, and gender.
I have suffered because of my mental health. I have been hospitalized and have lost friends and jobs. My story includes my lowest point up until I accepted help from those around me. With support of family, I met the right doctor who put me on the right medications and got my life back. I'm currently in my third semester at Cal State LA. With the support of my providers, family, friends, and OSD, I am deciding on what master's program is right for me, because I know I am capable of anything.
